Today is the first day back to school for many kids. After 2 long and luxurious weeks of rest, relaxation and SNOW, the kids finally have to get up at the crack of dawn and head ‘back to the grindstone”.
My goal today was to get the kids up early enough to practice some early morning Yoga. Have them, blood pumping and focused, ready to learn…of course, my children instead, found their appropriate roosting spot and snuggled in their corners until the last possible minute instead…hey, at least I got them up, right?
As I prepared my lunch, both kids dragged themselves into the kitchen. Watching mommy, in complete awe that I was so awake, they began their own attempts to wake each other up. I kept hearing numbers called out and finally decided to listen…
“Number 21, Canada. First letter B…”
“Number 9, Canada. I’m not telling you his first letter! You should know this one!”
After going through the entire roster, my kids had finally woken up and were ready to take on the day…
I did, however, have to answer all of the signs for NHL Penalties on my way out the door though…I will be honest, I don’t think I have ever seen Butt Ending called in a game. My son was pretty stoked when he stumped me on that one.
Welcome back to school everyone!
