With more penalty minutes and less games played than any other player on the team, Ben Eager finished his suspension Monday and by Tuesday has now also finished his time as an Atlanta Thrasher. Earlier today he was traded to San Jose for a 5th round draft pick. Though not the most lucrative move, the Atlanta Thrashers have pretty much traded all of their draft picks so far and, in all honestly, the opportunity to continue without Eager’s major penalties is probably one of the smartest moves yet.

To say we were in dire straits is an understatement. While trading Eager, both Evander Kane and Chris Thorburn sat out practice in Tuesday due to “banged up” status. It seems as though most of the NHL these days attempt to knock Kane out of commission, continually getting hit above the neck while no penalties are called. The latest hit in FLA made whiplash look fun when viewed in slow motion. Even still, GM Rick Dudley was not willing to hang on to such a liability any longer. You can find his quoted words regarding future potential trading on Chris Vivlamore’s Thrasher Blog here .

Maybe that was all we needed. For now, Sir Ramsay will not let things get him down. So he is down a few good forwards, Tuesday they brought Defensive player Zach Bogosian out to try on the Forward game. Why not? How many people knocked him for letting Byfuglien, formerly a forward for the Chicago Blackhawks, play Defense for the Atlanta Thrashers? From what I recall, many said he was crazy…

Crazy how many records that boy is on the path to breaking…

Interestingly enough, Alex Ovechkin – Captain of the Washington Capitals just scored his 16th goal tonight against The Philadephia Flyers…tying Dustin Byfuglien in goals this season.

Check Out San Jose’s – Blades of Teal to see how they are coping with their new baggage (just coming off a suspension while another one goes on…seems like he might fit in pretty well)
