Preview against the Maple Leafs

Every time I hear Toronto Maple Leafs, I begin to break out into a sweat. My stomach turns to knots and I have horrid flashbacks to the last meet-up between these two teams in Atlanta where the Maple Leafs totally annihilated the Atlanta Thrashers.

Tonight the Atlanta Thrashers will host the Toronto Maple Leafs for their forth and final meeting for this season. Puck drop is at 5pm EST. This afternoon’s game is a “Kid’s Day” game, you can purchase tickets here. Part of the Kid’s Day events are autographs by a Thrasher prior to the game.

After the ‘undisclosed’ injury to Ondrej Pavelec against the Florida Panther’s Friday night, Drew MacIntyre has been recalled from the Chicago Wolves. Chris Mason will most likely get the start for this game.

This will be the first meeting with the Versteeg-less Maple Leafs. We know what needs to be done. The Atlanta Thrashers need to turn those ‘shots on goal’ into GOALS. Period. That is what we need. Everyone needs to hit the ice with 1 clear goal on their mind, to WIN this game. Everyone needs to be stepping up and playing hard. Shut down the likes of Phil Kessel and Clarke MacArthur and win this one in regulation.
