Thrashers vs. 'Canes Preview

Well, the storms are definitely pounding the ATL. As the storms blow through, the Atlanta Thrashers are heading to Raleigh to weather out another Hurricane. While I would love to reiterate the obvious about what needs to take place in Raleigh, I will, instead, try just to notate any necessary facts.

Dustin Byfuglien, for his first game this season, will not be suited up. Buff did not make the trip to Raleigh after leaving practice early on Monday. He is listed as day-to-day with a lower body injury. If you may recall, in the last game against the Panthers, there was a collision mid-ice that left him bowled over for a minute. This could, perhaps, be a result of that collision? While he is out Paul Postma has been re-called from the AHL Chicago Wolves.

The Carolina Hurricanes are seriously on the prowl to regain their 8th place position with the Sabres’ loss last night. The Atlanta Thrashers are trying to get their first back-to-back wins since the beginning of January. With all meet ups so far this season ending with Carolina victories, the Atlanta Thrashers are also eager to see this streak end.

With Dustin Byfuglien’s 3 assists in Saturday night’s game, someone else is going to need to step up assisting tonight. The Atlanta Thrashers need to come ready to win.
