Going Green

The Atlanta Thrashers, Atlanta Hawks, Atlanta Flames alumnus and volunteers from each of these organizations partnered with the Home Depot and Trees Atlanta for a mulching project in Vine City. Trees Atlanta works to keep Atlanta looking lush and beautiful working with donations and awesome volunteers to keep planting, digging, mulching and keeping Atlanta the Urban Forest it once was known as. (they also have a pretty killer green roof that I would love to duplicate)

Starting at 3pm on Friday, April 8, prior to the Atlanta Thrashers hosting the Carolina Hurricanes, there will be an electronic recycling collection center at Philips Arena. Bring all of those old broken electronics you just didn’t want to throw away because you didn’t want them heading out to the local landfill. For everyone who brings items to the recycling drive, you will receive an special coupon.

What can you do to participate in the Going Green campaign? Take Marta to the game. Marta drops you off right at Philips arena. Additionally, while inside, there are recycling bins outside most all of the portals for plastics and the Atlanta Thrashers also promote recycling the programs.
