Now, Who to Root For?

I may only speak for half of Thrasher Backer when I say this, but GO PREDATORS!!! I couldn’t think of anyone I’d rather see win the cup. It’s been a long road for this team as they’ve battled, not only for a playoff position, but fought their way all the way up to the fifth seed in the Western conference.

If Nashville wants to win the cup, they’ve got a long road ahead of them. First up is the Anaheim Ducks. Much like the Predators, the Ducks have had to fight their way in late, to grab the fourth seed and are going to be a tough opponent.  You’d have to think that Nashville has the upper hand in this matchup. During the regular season, the Preds took control of their series with Anaheim, going 3-1.

If they were to win that series, they would then have to face another top-tier team in Vancouver, San Jose, or Detroit(more than likely). There’s no doubt it’s going to be a tough ride for Nashville if they want to win it all, but I believe they have what it takes. Mike Fisher, Martin Erat, Shea Weber,  and Pekka Rinne.  The list goes on and on. But there is one question. Has this team wasted all their gas since March? Well,  they have gone 12-4-3 since the beginning of March.  Was it them doing everything they can to make the post season? Was it strictly just that they were playing well? I sure hope that it was the second option. Hopefully, they can do what it takes to take down the best of the West and reach the cup finals. But as long as the Wings, or any East team doesn’t take the cup home, I’m OK.

Maybe, some time this week, we’ll see what the other half of Thrasher Backer has to think about the upcoming playoffs. TJ over and out!
