Now that Rick Nash of the Columbus Blue Jackets has been named Captain of Team Canada, Dion Phaneuf with the Toronto Maples Leafs, Jason Spezza with the Ottawa Senators, Travis Zajac with the NJ Devils and Andrew Ladd, hopefully to remain with the Atlanta Thrashers, all step up as Alternate Captains for the team.

Antoine Vermette (Columbus Blue Jackets)
and my favorite rookie this season, Jeff Skinner (Carolina Hurricanes)

I’m surprised Bryan Little didn’t get an invite.

Look for Team Canada to add 1-2 forwards, 2 defensemen
and 1 goalie after Rd. 1 of the NHL playoffs.

Forwards likely to be asked: one or two of Toews, Getzlaf, Stamkos, Richards, Giroux, Briere, Lucic or Patrice Bergeron.

Defensemen likely to be asked: two or three of Doughty, Keith, Seabrook, Hamhuis, Bieksa, Coburn, Ference.

Goalie likely to be asked: one of Crawford, Bernier, Roloson or Luongo

Add Corey Perry to that list!
