Bracketology: Round 2

So here we are in round two. Obviously, according the bracket above, I had two incorrect picks in the first round. Nonetheless, congratulations to both the Flyers and the Lightning with their advancement. After round 1 of play, I decided to change the board around a bit according to recent gameplay.

Let’s face it folks. Vancouver ALMOST bombed their opportunity to advance. How you just let a 3-0 lead vanish against an 8th seed team? It’s obvious they let their guard down, and to be honest, I don’t think they can keep their composure throughout the rest of the playoffs. I do have them beating Nashville(which I wish that wouldn’t happen), but I don’t think they’d be able to handle Detroit if they were to continue to the conference finals. With that said, I now have Detroit making their way back into the Stanley Cup finals.

As far as the East goes, it’s tricky. The Lightning now travel to Washington and Philly will go to Boston.  The only team that had a relatively “easy” first round, is the Capitals. They’re dominant. There’s no denying that. I have no doubt in my mind that they can handle anyone that’s left in the bracket. For that exact reason, I have them going the distance and taking care of the Red Wings in the Stanley Cup finals. Let’s just see how this all unfolds.
