Winnipeg Gets Unanimous Approval From Board of Governors

It was all but done, but now all doubt is gone. The NHL Board of Governors unanimously approved the relocation to Winnipeg today. The approval of new owners required a 75% approval, while relocation needed only a simple majority (which always has seemed weird to me).

The enthusiasm with which Winnipeggers were willing to plunk down large amounts of cash to buy season tickets not only for this year, but for three, four and even five years into the future made this decision a no brainer. Not that anyone should have been worried, but with the NHL you just sometimes never know.
