Jets Give Aebischer AHL Deal (For Some Reason)

hockeygoalies.org

The Jets gave David Aebischer an AHL deal after training camp, which tells you all you need to know about their goaltending situation right now.

Aebischer had a .897 save percentage in camp, and last year playing for Lugano in the Swiss league had only a .866 save percentage.

To spin this from an optimist’s point of view, Aebischer has a ton of experience, so he will be a good mentor for Edward Pasquale, who is still only 20 and will be playing in just his second season of professional hockey.

And, if nothing else, he’ll be able to tell Pasquale how to react when giving up a lot of goals.
