There were some reasonably heavy rumors that Evander Kane had become frustrated with Claude Noel and had demanded a trade, bu Kane and his agent put those rumors to rest:
“I’ve spoken with Evander and this is completely untrue,” Oster said. “Neither he nor us have talked about a trade. Evander is very excited to be in Winnipeg and about his future with Winnipeg.”
Kane only has a goal and an assist this year, but recently got thrown on the Beatles line with Alex Burmistrov and Nik Antropov and that trio has been phenomenal over the past couple of games. Kane is in the last year of his ELC, and looks like the type of player Chevy will want to build around, not trade away for more assets.
Though, the cynic in me wonders if these trade demands were starting to surface when he was buried on the third line and even playing some fourth line, and those magically went away when he was paired with Burmi and Antropov.
