Game Day Eve Thread

The New York Islanders travel to Winnipeg to try to keep their momentum going after defeating the Minnesota Wild on Saturday.  Tuesday will also mark the Islanders first trip to Winnipeg since March 9, 1996.

The Islanders were able to escape with a win Saturday by peppering Minnesota’s goalie with shots all night.  The game would be decided in a shootout.  The Islanders, 5-3-2 in their last 10, will look to slow the momentum of the Jets, 6-4-0 in their last 10.  The Jets have only tasted defeat one time in the month of December.

Winnipeg currently sits in 9th place in the Eastern Confernce, 1 point shy out of eighth place trailing the Leafs by 1 point.  The New York Islander find themselves fermenting at the bottom of the Eastern Conference tied with Carolina.
