Winnipeg Jets: Is East Coast Trip A Springboard?

The Jets are off to a 3-1 start on their East Coast trip and they successfully swept the City of New York and throw in the New Jersey Devils just for fun.  The question is 29 games into the season is this great start to the road trip the springboard needed to jump into legitimate playoff contention?

The Jets are dominating the perceived weaker Eastern Conference this week so even though every game is important and every 2 point night is crucial to any playoff dreams the Jets have this season.  Could this be a reason for excitement or does it just hide the fact that the Jets haven’t been able to beat teams they need to beat in the Minnesota Wild and Chicago Blackhawks.

Momentum is a huge thing and this trip could be the answer the Jets have been looking for this year by picking up wins instead of treading water near the .500 mark in the standings.

There is still over 50 games left on the schedule and even though the Western Conference looks stacked a little jump-start on the East coast could give the team the confidence it needs when they get back home and start playing the teams they need to start beating in the Western Conference.

Springboard or just a good trip? What do you think?

Either way it’s a great start to the trip and the Jets need to finish strong!
