Dallas Stars

The NHL postponed Monday’s game between Dallas and Columbus after forward Rich Peverley suffered a cardiac emergency and collapsed on the bench. Peverley was taken to the hospital and is reported to be in stable condition. This was not the first incident for Peverley, he missed the whole preseason due to an irregular heartbeat and sat out last Tuesday’s game because of the same problem. Dallas had been on a two game win streak before Monday’s game, they’ll be in St.Louis Tuesday. There is no word on the rescheduling of the game against the Blue Jackets.

Winnipeg Jets

A losing streak has hit the Jets at the wrong time. Winnipeg has lost their last four games and with time winding down, every point now matters. The Jets picked up a point in a loss against Colorado on Monday to keep within four points of Dallas. Before losing to Ottawa, Ollie Jokinen had been on a three game point streak with two goals and one assist. The Jets will have to respond quickly if they hope to snag the eighth playoff spot from Dallas. Winnipeg will try to end their losing streak against the slumping Canucks on Wednesday.

Nashville Predators

Nashville got their first victory in the month of March Monday night in Ottawa. Seth Jones scored the OT winner as Nashville ended their four game losing streak. The Predators have gone 3-5-2 in their last ten and are pretty much out of any playoff hopes for this year. Having their star netminder injured for most of the year and a lack of offensive output, this has been a tough year for Nashville. Playing on back to back nights, the Predators are in Buffalo Tuesday.
