Winnipeg Jets Injury Update: March 13

The Winnipeg Jets find themselves in an unusual position. Relatively speaking the Jets are a healthy group. However, the injury to center Mark Scheifele has been more than noticeable. The Jets still haven’t won a game without him in the line-up, they are currently on a five game winless streak. We’re past the trade deadline and the Jets find themselves on the outside looking in at this point. They will have to rely on the personnel that they currently have in their system and do their best to stay healthy to have any chance of making the playoffs. On top of winning a ton of games that is.

  • John Albert was playing in his first game with the big club since being recalled from St. John’s last week. Unfortunately for him, he played only four shifts for a duration of 2 minutes and 6 seconds before leaving with an upper body injury. No details have been released and he’s listed as day-to-day
  • Mark Scheifele was reported to be sidelined for 6-8 weeks by TSN’s Aaron Ward when the injury occurred. It was stated that it was an MCL injury, but the Jets have yet to publically confirm that. That along with the fact that he has not been moved to the IR could lead to speculation of a slightly quicker recovery
  • James Wright is the only change on the injury front for the Jets. They have in fact moved him to the IR with his sprained ankle. There is no timeline for his return at this point

Note: Grant Clitsome (IR) is recovering from successful back surgery, he is out for the remainder of the season.
