Winnipeg Jets vs. San Jose Sharks: Viewing Information and Predictions

The Winnipeg Jets and San Jose Sharks will take to the ice for the final time against each other on Thursday night. One team is in do-or-die mode, while the other is already set to make the playoffs.

The Sharks clinched a playoff spot on Tuesday, while the Jets fell into a deep hole in the Wild Card race with a loss to divisional opponent Dallas on Monday night.

Antti Niemi will start for the Sharks in his second straight game, while the Jets will start Al Montoya for the sixth straight time after Ondrej Pavelec‘s lower-body injury.

The Jets are without James Wright, Mark Scheifele, and Chris Thorburn, and Zach Bogosian is a game-time decision. Andrew Ladd is back in the lineup after missing Monday’s game due to the birth of his child. The Sharks are without Adam Burish who had surgery on Wednesday, Tomas Hertl, and Raffi Torres.

The Jets and Sharks are dead-locked at 1-1 in their season series. Winnipeg won the first affair in a shoot-out, while San Jose took the most recent game with a score of 1-0.

My Prediction: The Jets come out flying, but the Sharks hold tight and show why they’re the best team in the Pacific Division. 3-1 Sharks with an empty-netter. Evander Kane the lone goal.

Let’s hope I’m wrong!
