The Winnipeg Jets close the book on their 2013-14 season on Friday night, after a battle with the Calgary Flames, who are also out of the playoffs.
The Jets will start Ondrej Pavelec for what may be his final game as a Jet, while Kari Ramo makes his fourth consecutive start for the Flames, after three wins in a row.
Winnipeg is missing Al Montoya, Zach Bogosian, Keaton Ellerby, Mark Scheifele, Dustin Byfuglien, Andrew Ladd, James Wright, and Chris Thorburn, while the Flames are without Tyler Wotherspoon (shoulder), Ladislav Smid (upper-body), Dennis Wideman (upper-body), Markus Granlund (upper-body), and David Jones (upper-body). Paul Byron is questionable, after missing four straight games for personal reasons.
The Jets may play five of six AHL players on their roster in the final game: Zach Redmond, Patrice Cormier, Carl Klingberg, Ben Chiarot, and Eric O’Dell will all return to St. John’s following the game. Michael Hutchinson will join them, but is back-up goaltender after playing on Thursday night.

My Prediction: It seems every time I predict a Jets’ loss, they end up winning. So, the Flames continue their hot streak (no pun intended) with a 4-3 win in overtime. Kris Russell scores the winner, while O’Dell, Kane, and Little score for the Jets. Pavelec makes 21 stops.
Let’s hope I’m wrong! What’s your prediction? Leave it in the comments section below!
GO JETS GO! It’s time to cheer on the Jets for the last time until fall!
